OSRAA is a membership-based association of Oregon Senior and Placement Referral Agencies. Members must meet the following ethics and standards set up by the association.
Agency’s Structure, Policies and Procedures
- Previews and pre-qualifies Care Communities
- Refers to all types of senior housing: Assisted Living, Adult Care Homes, In-Home Care, Retirement Communities, Residential Care, and Continuing Care Retirement Communities
- Reviews Public Discloser Files and maintains current updates
- Provides personalized assessments and tours
- Coordinates additional support resources in the community
- Follows-up with clients and sends surveys for quality assurance
- Maintains a current business license and carries adequate liability insurance
- Regulates company and staff with written policies and procedures
- Has adequate staff to help when you need them
Advisors’ Background and Experience
- Have a health care, social services, senior services or long-term-care
- Are knowledgeable about age-related issues and the importance of reducing transition trauma
- Understand diagnoses, illnesses, related care and procedures to better match community services to social and care needs
- Are able to educate and communicate clearly about care choices; able to explain the differences in a community’s ability to meet care needs
Agency’s Commitment to the Industry and Community
- Has been in business for at least three years, ensuring history and knowledge of choices
- Has a proven track record with professional and client references (including surveys available for review, comments on SeniorList.com, etc.)
- Has senior-related memberships, affiliations, networks and associations
- Is certified “Elder Friendly” by Elders in Action
- Requires continuing education for their staff
